Jesus Healed on Sabbath

The Sabbath in the Scriptures and in History

SOME MIRACLES OF JESUS ON SABBATH

Introduction

Saturday was given to men for their relief and well-being; any action that promoted that end was especially appropriate for Saturday. The rabies would have agreed that, in an urgent case of life or death, medical care could be provided on Saturday, but if the patient could wait safely until the next day, then the healing action had to be postponed. Jesus defended, on the contrary, that Saturday was a day preeminently suitable for the realization of such works of mercy, whether the case was urgent or not, since such works were completely in line with God’s purpose in giving the day. On the other hand, anything that tended to make the Saturday law burdensome was at odds with that purpose.

Healings on Sabbath peculiar to Luke

THE CRIPPLED WOMAN

The Gospel of Luke states two other healings on Saturday, which also caused conflict. One of them, given in Luke 13:10-17, was the healing of «a woman who for eighteen years had a spirit of illness, and was hunched over and in no way could be straightened.»The claim that he had a «spirit of disease» suggests that his illness was a consequence of the power of demons. Jesus healed her immediately by telling her that she was healed and putting his hands on her. Unlike the previous conflict, in this case the healing occurred first and then the debate continued.

The opposition originated in a «high dignitary of the synagogue,» who was angry with Jesus, but instead of reprimanding him, he reprimanded the congregation: «There are six days when you must work; on these, therefore, come and be healed, and not on Saturday» (vers. 14).

Jesus dismissed this man as a hypocrite and all those who accepted his interpretation. He proceeded to show that they cared about the welfare of the animals on Saturday, but they had no genuine concern for the welfare of the people. Are animals more important than people? The values of an institution like Saturday should not be placed above human values.

The Scripture is interpreted: «You untie the ties of your draft animals to refresh them and you understand that this is not a violation of the sacred day, but you protest against the release of a human creature, from a daughter of Abraham, to whom Satan – the origin of the evil spirit – had tied, not one day, but eighteen years!»

The woman’s illness was not God’s will. She was tied by Satan. Should God give him freedom even on Saturday? We are struck by the shocking antithesis in Jesus’ final argument a fortiori«a daughter of Abraham – animals; eighteen years of suffering – thirst for a single day; a tie of Satan – a mere physical lack.»

Not only should such a woman be allowed to be released on Saturday, but she had to be released. When there is power to free such a person, there is an obligation to do so.

On this occasion Jesus won the dispute: «All his adversaries were humiliated, but the people were delighted with so many wonders that he did» (Luc. 13:17, NIV).

MAN WITH HYDROPESIA

The other healing on Saturday recorded only in Luke was that of a man who had hydropesia (14:1-4). The miracle occurred in the home of «a Pharisee ruler» to whom Jesus had been invited to eat on a Saturday.

The presence of a man suffering from water load was a challenge for Jesus. He took the initiative by asking: «Is it lawful to heal on Saturday?» The interpreters of the law and the Pharisees present there «could not say yes or no, without appearing to be permissive in their attitude towards the law or merciless towards those who suffered.» Hence they didn’t give any answer. Then, Jesus proceeded to the healing of man.

The Old Testament established the obligation to help a needy animal that belonged to a brother or even an enemy. But nothing is said about the provision of such help on Saturday, and the rabies disagreed in their interpretation. It seems that Jesus shared with his theological opponents the approval of humanitarian action towards needy animals. But if an animal could be helped, why not a human being? Neither the host nor the guests had an answer to that question.

Johns’s peculiar Sabbath healings

THE PARALYTIC OF BETHESDA AND THE BLIND:

Two healings on Saturday that put Jesus in open conflict with the Jews are documented exclusively in the Gospel of John. One was the healing of the paralytic in the pond of Bethsaida (John 5:1-9).

While Jesus was in Jerusalem on «a feast of the Jews,» he saw a chronic invalid – whose illness lasted thirty-eight years – lying on one of the porticos that surrounded the pond, waiting for the water to stir. According to the belief, and as it was said, the pond was fed by an intermittent spring. A popular superstition explained this natural phenomenon as a supernatural agitation of water by an angel. Jesus asked the unfortunate: «Do you want to be healthy?» Then, he gave him the order: «Get up, take your stretcher and walk.»

By faith, man put his will to obey the order and, in doing so, received healing and restoration. The man showed the reality and integrity of his healing by walking and taking home the lounge on which he had been lying for so many years.

Only in the conclusion of the story of the miracle does Juan inform us that it happened on Saturday (Jn. 5:9). It was a full-fledged challenge to rabbinical rules on Saturday’s observance. The man who was cured was not in imminent danger of losing his life and, therefore, could have waited to be healed until Saturday ended.

In addition, while transporting his bed, the cured man violated one of the thirty-nine main types of work banned on Saturday. The Jews wasted no time in reminding him that, by carrying that mat, he was doing something illegal on Saturday. However, man, with newly found health, did not feel any remorse of conscience when obeying the order of Christ. Since Jesus was the source of life and health that he now enjoyed, why should he not also be the source of due laws?

When the Jews learned that the healer was, indeed, as they suspected, Jesus, they began to take hostile measures against him (vers. 16). The Greek suggests that this was not due to a single rape, but to the fact that it had become a habit. The New International Version expresses it this way: «Precisely for this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus, because he did such things on Saturday.»

The defense that Jesus presented of his action rests on two basic premises: (1) his intimate relationship with God the Father; and (2) the fact, admitted by the Jews, that God continued to work on Saturday. «My Father works so far, and I work» (vers. 17). Thus, he claimed the example of his Father to perform these miracles of mercy. We can observe with acuity and malice: «This immediately places the debate on the highest theological level.»

The designation «my Father» significantly indicates the awareness that Jesus had of a special relationship with God. God’s continuous and incessant activity in the universe is an example for Jesus. «He works like the Father.» The Jewish exegetes most given to reflection found it difficult to understand the divine rest to which Genesis 2:2 alludes. How to interpret God’s rest was the subject of many debates. That shows that the Sabbath carries, from creation, a principle of health that goes beyond human understanding, that Jesus knew him and that is why he took advantage of every Saturday to cure the most difficult cases.

It was generally recognized that God could not rest for a moment from the moral governance of the universe. They came to the conclusion that God continues to give life and judge men even on Saturday. It would be truly tragic for the universe and for man that God stopped governing the universe, even if it was for an instant. God works constantly in the functioning of the natural world. He is also incessantly engaged in the work of redemption. There is no rest from such work, there is no Saturday that stops it. Saturdays have never hindered God’s work. Nor should they hinder, Jesus said, the work of the Son of God. “Saturday was created for man.” He considered his work just as sacred and of the same character as the work of the Father. John 5:18 indicates that the Jews perfectly understood the high claims that Jesus made of himself, but that they rejected those claims as unjustified. They considered that their claim to an exceptional relationship with God was, neither more nor less, a blasphemy. However, Jesus replied (vers. 19) that he did not work independently of God. He not only did the things he saw his Father do; he acted not only as the Father, but with the Father. He did the same works because he was of the same nature as the Father. The fact that his statement is introduced with the words «of truth, of truth» implies a purpose and an authority for his saying. Speak in the name of God and with God’s authority. The remainder of the chapter deals with the question of that authority.

The dispute resumes in John 7:19-24. Since the healing of the invalid by the pond, the Jews of Jerusalem had the purpose of destroying Jesus (5:18; 7:24). How could they claim to keep the Mosaic law while caressing hatred and murder in their heart? How could they justify their interpretations that circumcision invalidates Saturday, while they considered that the cures violated him?

The «one work» referred to in John 7:21 was the healing in the pond, which made the crowd marvel, but which also resulted in a long discussion related in chapter 5. Jesus drew attention to the Pharisaic interpretation that circumcision invalidates the Sabbath. Mosaic law required a male baby to be circumcised on the eighth day (Lev. 12:3). Rabbi José had declared: «Great is the circumcision, which invalidates even the rigor of Saturday.»On Saturday, anything that was necessary for this rite could be done. Circumcision was considered to complete the perfection of man. Abraham was not considered perfect until his circumcision. That has never been mentioned. Jesus argued: «If man receives circumcision on Sabbath, so that the law of Moses is not broken, will you be angry with me because on Saturday I completely healed a man?» (John 7:23). It is an argument to minor ad maius, from minor to major. «If they had understood the meaning of what they were doing, they would have seen that the practice that annulled Saturday to attend to the ceremonial needs of a man justified the cancellation of Saturday to attend to the healing of a man’s body. This is extremely important to understand the conflict over Saturday between Jesus and his legalistic adversaries. He did not simply advocate that a repressive law be liberalized. Nor did he adopt an attitude contrary to Saturday, opposite to the institution as a whole. He pointed out that his action fulfilled the purpose since the creation of the original institution. If they had understood the implications of the Mosaic stipulation for circumcision on Saturday, they would have seen that the works of mercy like the ones he had just done were not merely permissible, but mandatory.»

The BLIND OF BIRTH:

The other miracle on Saturday that appears only in John is the healing of a man blind by birth (chapter 9). The method used to give sight to man is unusual: Jesus «spit on the ground, made mud with saliva and smeared the blind man’s eyes with mud, and said to him: ‘Go wash yourself in the pond of Siloe'» (vers. 6, 7). Someone might think that Jesus would deliberately use this method to challenge the rabbinical rules of Saturday observance. As mentioned above, the healing itself on Saturday was prohibited, unless human life was in mortal danger. By making mud in the form used, Jesus violated one of the thirty-nine main categories of prohibited work, specifically kneading, and probably also another that was used for the same purpose on weekdays: mixing. In addition, a person was allowed to smear his eyes only with what was necessary if it was like medicine. In the sight of some of the Pharisees, Jesus did not come from God, «because,» they said, «does not keep the Sabbath» (vers. 16). A man could only be considered a Sabbath observer if he obeyed the Pharisaic rules on the observance of the Sabbath. If he raped them, they came to the conclusion that he did not come from God. However, others were deeply impressed by the fact that he gave the sight to a blind man by birth and asked: «How can a sinful man make these signs?» (vers. 16). Thus, different men adopted different positions in relation to Jesus. Someone said correctly: «Here too, Jesus’ action on Saturday is an expression of his work as the One whom God has sent and who is the ‘light of the world’ (John 9:5 and 8:12). Face to face with him is made the decision of who is blind and who sees (Jn. 9:39-41). Thus, the works of God are manifested in the healings of Jesus on the Sabbathe (John 9:3). The church and the synagogue are separated from each other by His confession on the one hand and, on the other, a passionate rejection of His work, which leaves the law aside.» But the application of saliva and mud had a different and very particular purpose, which we discussed in this writing in detail in another chapter. (Don’t miss it, because it reveals a big secret).

The meaning of Matthew 24:20. In his eschatological speech to the twelve apostles on the Mount of Olives (Mat. 24:4-36; Mar. 13:5-37; Luke 21:8-36), our Lord explicitly predicted the destruction of Jerusalem. He warned: «When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, know then that its destruction has come. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains; and those who are in the midst of it should go away” (Luc. 21:20, 21). The Christians were to save their lives by fleeing immediately, not only from the condemned city, but also from Judea. Taking this into account, according to the Gospel of Matthew, he urged them: «So so that your flight is not in winter or on Saturday» (Mat. 24:20). The parallel of Marcos only says: «Oray, then, so that your flight is not in winter» (Mar. 13:18). Why not in winter? Because the cold and rainy weather would make it more difficult to escape, as well as the possibility of finding shelter.

The additional sentence «not even on Saturday», found only in Matthew, has been interpreted in different ways. Some commentators have denied that Jesus uttered these words. However, there is no doubt that they were part of Mateo’s original text. Did the author of the first Gospel insert them without further ado, in harmony with his Jewish predilections, as some have mistakenly concluded? Someone suggested that they may well come from the logions of Jesus and that they were known by the author of the first Gospel from Jewish sources. We are unable to see any valid reason to refuse that they are a genuine part of the login. Accepting them as such, what is their meaning?

In the interpretation of many commentators, it must be understood that the order «Spray that your escape is not on Saturday» is a reference to the prohibition of traveling beyond a «Saturday road», which measured approximately one kilometer. It is clear that the Israelites, during their wanderings through the desert, were forbidden to travel long distances on the seventh day. The commandment said: «Let each one stay in his place, in his house or stay, and no one comes out of it on the seventh day» (Ex. 16:29). This mandate made specific reference to leaving the camp on Saturday to collect mana, which was lying «on the face of the desert», «around the camp», six days a week (vers. 13, 14, 26, 27). However, «his place» was subject to various interpretations. Most likely, as just suggested, it meant the camp of the Israelites or their home. On the other hand, the translators of the Septuagint interpreted that it meant the house of each one, and this idea is reflected in several modern translations, such as the version «God Speaks Today»: «On the seventh day everyone must stay in their house and not leave it.» That was a good recommendation to validate rest and produce physical and spiritual health in the town. That interpretation would not harmonize with the designation of the Sabbath, according to different translations, such as «holy convocation», «sacred assembly» or «religious meeting» (Lev. 23:2-4), because modern leaders and pastors require constant attendance at Saturday meetings to require work, tithes, offerings and the presence of the congregation for other activities that, if Jesus were present, he would not authorize, because it diverts people’s attention from the true purpose of divine rest.

The prohibition relating to not to travel more than one «Saturday road» was a post-exylic rule. Given that Jesus ignored other human rules of that kind about the observance of the Sabbath, it is doubtful that he would have supported this one. He very wisely chose the route he would follow to find the sick who needed his hand to heal, since in the morning he visited the temple.

Some believe that he merely recognized the scruples of conscience of Christians of Jewish extraction for fleeing on Saturday. A «Saturday road» would not have distanced them enough to get to a safe place. Hence the prayer for the escape to happen on a different day. But even the rabies recognized that it could be considered that saving one’s own life could justify an escape on Saturday.

Many New Testament scholars see in Matthew 24:20 an indication that the Christian community for which Matthew writes will continue to observe on Saturday. In addition, if it was a genuine Sunday saying, it indicates that our Lord hoped that his followers would consider the sacred Saturday even at the time of the destruction of Jerusalem, in 70 AD. Neither that nor anything should allow Saturday to be diverted to another type of activity, outside of the healing of the sick.

He instructed them to pray so that in that moment of crisis they would not find it necessary to flee on Saturday. But the implication is that the conditions could be such that it would be necessary to flee even on the Sabbath day. But the fear, the trajín and the confusion that a hasty flight on Saturday would cause would not be in harmony with the worship, peace and joy that should characterize the sacred Sabbath day. Hence, the followers of Jesus were urged to pray that the flight would occur on a different day of the week. The same applies to meetings with different purposes that are currently held on Saturday hours to take advantage of the presence of greater people in the temple.

SABBATH IN THE STORIES OF THE PASSION

1. Evangelical Terminologyparaskeué (preparation)

It is evident that «preparation» had become a technical term to say «preparation for Saturday.» At the time the manna was given, the Israelites were instructed to prepare their food for Saturday on the sixth day of the week (Friday) (Ex. 16:5, 23). Already in the times of the New Testament, paraskeuése had become the technical name of Friday. This is demonstrated not only by the fact that Josephus links it to the Sabbath, but also by its absolute use in the Didaje and the Martyrdom of Polycarp. It is the name of Friday in ecclesiastical Latin and modern Greek.

2. The ¨preparation» and the urgency for the imminence of Saturday.

In John 19:32 the connection of the «preparation» with Saturday is also clear. The deuteronomic law prohibited the corpse of a criminal who had been hung from a tree from still on it until the next morning (Deut. 21:22, 23). Hence, the Jews followed the custom of removing from the cross the corpse of a crucified victim before dusk any day of the week, and more when Saturday was about to begin, especially when Saturday was a «great solemnity», when it fell within the days of Easter. At such a time, desecration had to be avoided more scrupulously than on any other Saturday.

In John 19:42 the close relationship of the «Jewish day of preparation» (NIV) with Saturday is also clear. Since that day of preparation was nearing its end and that the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea was nearby, in a garden, they hastily buried Jesus there. It was obvious that Saturday’s imminence required haste.

3. «The preparation of the Passover» (John 19:14) Interpretive Debate

However, John 19:14 says that the day of Jesus’ death was «the preparation of Easter.» This designation is peculiar to Juan. Synoptic Gospels do not associate paraskeué with Easter. The commentators are divided on the interpretation of the expression «the preparation of Easter.»

Some take the genitive tou pasja as an objective genitive and interpret the phrase with the meaning of «preparation for Easter.» However, many theologians point out that there is no evidence that the day before Easter was ever called «Easter preparation.» Hence, it may be better to interpret the genitive of Easter as a possessive genitive, with the meaning of the preparation corresponding to the days of Easter or Friday of the Easter week.

4. The Women

This interpretation is given: But in John 19:14, axen той паохи [paraskenē tau pasja] does not mean ‘the day of preparation for Easter’, but, simply and naturally, the Sabbath day of Easter (sabbal day belonging to the feast of Easter.

Although in its origin the term «Easter» used to designate the Easter lamb or the Easter sacrifice, it came to apply to the entire feast, which lasted between the 14th and 21st of the month of Nisán. In the New Testament it is used in this general sense. Hence, paraskeué tou pasja can be interpreted as the preparation corresponding to Easter week.

A writer points out that John combines the idea of Friday as a day of preparation with the time of Easter, and interprets: «It was Friday at Easter time, and it was approximately the sixth hour.»

The synoptic Gospels draw attention to a group of Galileans who meticulously observed the death and burial of Jesus on the day of preparation. These seven women, along with the twelve apostles, had traveled with their Lord in Galilee, using the means at their hand at their sco-to-end to finance their Lord and his group of disciples. They had followed him to Jerusalem and remained loyal to Him to the very end.

Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the Younger and of Joseph, Mary his mother, and the mother of James and John. Now they observed how Joseph of Arimathea, a secret disciple, removed the Master’s body from the cross, wrapped it in a white shroud and deposited it in his own tomb.

It was already an early hour of the preparation day and on Saturday, according to Lucas, he was about to start. The Greek verb epefōsken literally means «dawn.» But how can you say that it dawns at sunset? We explain: «Obviously reference is made to the glow of the first star when Saturday arrives.»

Luke’s story continues: «The women who had accompanied him from Galilee followed him and saw the tomb and how his body was placed. When they returned, they prepared aromatic spices and ointments; and they rested on Saturday, according to the commandment. ‘On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came to the tomb, bringing the aromatic drugs they had put up, and some other women with them'» (Luke 24:1).

5. Deliberate reiteration: Preparation and Sabbath (John 19:31-42)

In John 19:31 the connection of the «preparation» with Saturday is also clear.

However, John 19:14 says that the day of Jesus’ death was «the preparation of Easter.» This designation is peculiar to Juan. Synoptic Gospels do not associate paraskeué with Easter. The commentators are divided on the interpretation of the expression «the preparation of Easter.» Some take the genitive tou pasja as an objective genitive and interpret the phrase with the meaning of «preparation for Easter.» However, some theologians point out that there is no evidence that the day before Easter was ever called «Preparation of Easter.» Hence, it may be better to interpret the genitive of Easter as a possessive genitive, with the meaning of the preparation corresponding to the days of Easter or Friday of the Easter week.

SABBATH IN THE SCRIPTURES AND IN HISTORY

  1. Another interpretative formulation on John 19:14

Someone can give this interpretation: but in John 19:14 it belongs to the feast of Easter. Although in its origin the term «Easter» used to designate the lamb or the Easter sacrifice, it came to apply to the entire festival, which lasts between the 14th and 21st of the month of nisán. «In the New Testament it is used in this general sense.» Hence, paraskeué tou pasja can be interpreted as the preparation corresponding to Easter week. It is pointed out that even the idea of Friday as a day of preparation, with the time of Easter, was interpreted as follows: «It was Friday at Easter time, and it was approximately the sixth hour.»

2. Women and obedience to the commandment

The synoptic Gospels draw attention to a group of Galileans who meticulously observed the death and burial of Jesus on the day of preparation. They were Marie Magdalena, Maria her mother, Maria the mother of Santiago the minor and José, and the mother of Santiago and Juan.

This is explained: «Obviously reference is made to the glow of the first star when Saturday arrives.»

Luke’s story continues: «The women who had accompanied him from Galilee followed him and saw the tomb and how his body was placed. When they returned, they prepared aromatic spices and ointments; and they rested on Saturday, according to the commandment.» Let’s review that experience:

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, Mary Magdalene, who was the first to reach the tomb, found the tomb open, the stone removed from the door and the tomb empty.

The recognition of the relationship of these women with Jesus and their messianic ministry makes this simple story very meaningful. After the twelve apostles, they were among the most intimate and devoted followers of Jesus. They risked their lives by following him to the cross. His devotion is demonstrated by his hasty purchase of spices and perfumes to anoint the body of his Lord.

Even so, they believed that they could not violate Saturday even to honor their deceased Master. They bought the spices and perfumes for use once finished on Saturday. The sunset was too close to think about using them on the day of preparation.«They rested on Saturday, according to the commandment.»

If we ask: according to what commandment?, the answer is obvious: they rested according to the commandment that has to do with Saturday. «They rested in obedience to the commandment.» The accusative to sabbaton indicates that they rested «all day on Saturday.» The conjunctive particle before Sabbath in Luke’s last sentence 23:56 corresponds to the adversive conjunction of 24:1, which indicates that 23:56 and 24:1 are a single sentence. At the end of chapter 23 there should be a comma, but those who separated one chapter from the other did not notice its continuity, which follows the story without breaking.

They rested the entire duration of Saturday, but at the beginning of the early morning of the first day of the week they went to the grave to continue their work. They felt extremely troubled when they found the tomb empty.

But an angel informed them: «Do not be afraid, because I know that you are looking for Jesus, the one who was crucified. He is not here, because he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord was placed» (Mat. 28:5, 6). Jesus had also rested from his great work of redemption, but now he was alive forever and ever.

Luke clearly refers to three different days in this story of the Passion: the day of preparation, Saturday and the first day of the week. In the first of them, Jesus was crucified; in the second he rested in the tomb. His most devoted followers also rested on Saturday in obedience to the commandment.

3. Purpose of the Gospels and normativity for the Christian

The nature of the Gospels can be better understood and appreciated, and the meaning of what the Gospels consign on the Sabbath, when considering the purposes for which these documents were written. Today it is generally recognized that they are not stories as such, even if they contain historical facts. Nor are they fundamentally biographies of Jesus.

Rather, they are church books written in order to promote the Christian faith (Luc. 1:1-4; John 20:31). They were written by Christians committed to helping to spread the good news of what God has done in Jesus Christ. They are fundamentally theological manuals of the early church.

The Gospels contain much of what Jesus said and did. Well, we can ask why. The answer is obvious: because what Jesus said and did is normative for the Christian. He is the Messiah and the Lord of the church.

Therefore, what he said is binding for those who profess to follow him. And what he did is also normative. It is the rule of belief and practice.

Taking this into account, what Jesus said and did with reference to the Sabbath has great meaning. He did not speak words about the abolition of the Sabbath, although he performed miracles of healing on that day; these acts were holy works in harmony with the spirit of the Sabbath. However, he stride to free the day from the interpretative restrictions that the Jewish oral law had placed on him, and made Saturday a day of spiritual freedom and useful service; a day with the blessing that no medical center in the world has for the suffering sick.

We must also recognize that when the Gospels recorded the sayings and deeds of Jesus, they also reflected the faith and practice of the early church. The stories of the book of The Acts also give evidence of faith and primitive Christian practices.

The following study will help us understand the true meaning of what Saturday constitutes from the perspective that Jehovah God created it for man and for the whole creation of the Earth.

4. Doctrinal development: rest as a gift, sign and medicine

According to the Jewish nation that was the people chosen by God to illuminate the world with the message of the Messiah of the promise, they did not receive the blessing of the Father through his Holy Spirit because they misunderstood the blessing and the meaning that contained that gift from God for the human being that the prophet called: delights, Holy, glorious of Jehovah; to serve as a sign, to the Jew first and then to the Greek and the rest of the world.

Both Jews and Gentiles, all rejected the universal rest that guaranteed salvation that counteracts disease and death.

That extremely healthy vision, which the Father and the Son, together with the Comforting Spirit, designed to complement the night’s rest of each day. A rest that makes the sun hide so that all creatures and nature rest and recover the energies invested in their various activities, is the divine instrument created to heal all the diseases that sin has brought to man and woman, so that, understanding the purpose of the Sabbath, their days are lengthened on earth (Exodus 20:12).

Daily and weekly rest is the most direct and acceptable way to give honor and glory to the Creators of the world who claim paternity. Man has delivered him to the enemy, thus desecrating the first five commandments that claim shared loyalty with our earthly fathers, which the Creator demands as our supreme Father and Creator. If we understand that divine claim, the human response must be total and constant.

But the human being, the men and women of this creation, have been unjust to God and to themselves, and have despised and rejected the greatest gift or gift that God has given to man so that he can live long on earth.

Divine rest is, together with the Son and the divine Mother, the greatest gift that God the Father has given to man; in addition to his suitable companion, it was rest. And instead of appreciating it in what that is worth, he has rejected it, has desecrated it, and has made it the day that merchants complete their businesses; on the day that the religious most detest some and that others collect more offerings. For that reason, the Jews rejected the Messiah and adopted the circumcision and laws created by them. They turned true and genuine rest into an intricate network of human laws and statutes that separated from the God of love and mercy, and turned him into a cruel avenger who only forgives through flesh and blood.

This vision will seem cruel to you, vindictive and angry of God. It has penetrated all over the world that has been flooded by the denominational message of modern churches that adopted the Jewish vision of a God with human attributes of vengeful justice. A god who only stimulates the negative feeling of eye for eye and tooth for tooth. That takes away from the road all the beings who live on earth with good positive feelings of love and mercy.

For that reason self-centered distorted of the character of God, thousands of beings of good feelings have rejected the message of the churches, and see Christianity from a rationally human perspective. They live without understanding the love and generosity of the Creator God who wants to live with his children like a Father who wants to be with his family and take care of them from all evil.

By losing sight of that important aspect of the divine family that was the model that God used to create the human family, the reason and the divine purpose of uniting the two families in a friendly and fraternal union that makes no difference between their biological children and their adopted children are lost. They all constitute a great family, the family of God.

On the Sabbath, all those divine interests in a fraternal relationship that makes no difference between the members of that great family: sons and daughters of God. Perfect fruits of creative love that wants to bring them together forever in love and justice, in health and in the company of the heavenly Father, the divine Mother and Jesus Christ, who was willing to suffer in the flesh and shed his blood for the family of the earth.

No one has realized the true purpose of divine rest. Not even because Jesus chose that day to teach us the love that, like a good Samaritan, was with a wounded stranger he found on his way. From the blessing and sanctification that was imparted to that period of time weekly to produce in the human being the best feelings to lavish the love of the Father to all those who do his will on that special day that has a very important purpose that is health. Physical, mental and spiritual health. But he descends from the Father to his children for all generations until eternity.

By not understanding the purpose of that particular day, nor having discovered the intrinsic secret in those 24 hours of each week, everyone gets sick and suffers, unaware of the medicinal power that that particular day contains for the health and life of all beings who believe in Him.

Eve’s sin at first was due more to the fact that she separated from her partner on Saturday and went to explore on her own in forbidden areas for her knowledge. The day of rest had another purpose not yet discovered by her. Her curiosity took her to the foot of the precipice and she fell. For that reason, the prophet Isaiah said: «If you retract your foot from the Sabbath, to do your will on my Holy day; and on the Sabbath you call delights, Holy, Glorious of the Lord, and you venerate him, not doing your ways, nor seeking your will, nor speaking your words; then you will delight in the Lord, and I will make you up on the heights of the earth, and I will feed you the inheritance of Jacob, your father; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it» (Isaia 58:13,14).

«Behold, the hand of the Lord has not been shortened to save, nor has his ear been aggravated to hear. But your iniquities have divided between you and your God, and your sins have made them hide their face from you so that they do not hear. For your hands are contaminated with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips in principle promote lies, your tongue speaks evil. There is no one who cries out for justice, nor who judges for the truth. They trust in vanity and speak vanities. They conceive work and stop iniquity.» Isaiah 58:13-14-15 and 1:4. We must read the entire chapters 58 and 59 of Isaiah to begin to understand the mystery that the Sabbath contains.

If all the peoples understood the purpose and blessing of that day, there would not be a single disease or sick people. Nor would there be so many calamities in the world. For that reason, Jesus cast the Jews as enemies, and they sabotaged their healing work. His greatest miracles were made on Saturday to give us an example of the meaning of that particular day; of that special blessing that was granted to him, and of the eternal sanctification he received from that purpose.

A blessing that, along with the special sanctification that the Creator gave to that particular day, cannot be explained in human language. It does not express, nor will it be expressed in any human language, both that weekly rest and the night rest of each day. Along with the food assigned in Genesis 1:29, they have a mysterious life secret that human beings cannot understand after 6,000 years of sin and diseases of all kinds. The leaders of the Christian Church do not understand it, despite the fact that Jesus established it as a daily practice of his love for the sufferings of sick people.

When Jesus got together with the Esenians and they spent the day on the riverbank healing the sick, he enjoyed that experience watching the lame jump, the blind see, and the paralytic get up and run. But Jesus never revealed to them the secret of the abundant life that is found in the divine rest, even when he was with them. And the situation is not easy to explain in human words, because it is a very special blessing from the Father.

One thing is proven: everyone who believes in that divine rest and practices it as a rule of life, and feeds on the fruits of the earth in the most natural way possible, as He explained in Genesis 1:29; and does not kill animals, nor eat meat of dead animals, nor their blood, lives much healthier and longer than the rest of the people.

Everyone who believes in that divine rest and practices it receives a great blessing: new studies conducted by several world-famous universities affirm that sleeping 8 hours a night and eating vegan and natural is highly beneficial for everyone. They have not done studies of the weekly rest or rest, but the day they do, they will see the great difference in the health of those who stop their work and turn the weekly Saturday into delights, Holy, Glorious of Jehovah, and venerate him, not walking in his ways, or doing his will, or speaking his words. Then all nations will delight in the Lord, and he will make him rise to the heights of the earth and give him food from the inheritance of Jacob, who is the Father and who is the best of the earth wherever they live. And your health will never fail you.

REFLECTIONS ON SABBATH

Sabbath and creation

The Saturday of creation appears in Genesis 2: 1-3, Exodus 20: 8-11 and Exodus 31: 12-17.21 These texts provide the basic biblical motivation for the observance of the Sabbath and point of view of the biblical view of the origin of the Sabbath. In Exodus 31: 12-17 the commandment to observe the Sabbath finds its ultimate reason in the statement «For in six days Jehovah made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day he rested and was renewed» (vers.17). In Exodus 20: 8-11 the commandment not to work in the rest of the seventh day also has as its motivation an explicit reference to creation and the divine example: «For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore, Jehovah blessed the Sabbath and sanctified it» (vers.11). These texts point to the origin of the Sabbath in creation and the language of motivation reminds us of the story of creation, in Genesis 2:1-3.

The Saturday of creation and Genesis 2:1-3. form the conclusion of the biblical account of creation. These verses are not an «etiological myth», but a meticulously structured literary unit. Verse 1, affirms what was finalized: «the heavens and the earth» (Gen.1:2-4; Ex. 20:11; 31: 17), that is, the whole world in its bipartite division, together with «the whole army of them», concretize the fullness of the army of creatures contained in the two-part world. Verse 2 is linked to verse 1 through the common verb ‘concluded’ (klb), «On the seventh day, God had concluded «his work that he had done».

The expression ‘the seventh day appears two more times in this unit (vers. 2 and 3), so that four ideas are associated with ‘the seventh day’: (1) God ‘had completed’ his creative work that day; (2) God ‘rested’ from his creative work that day; (3) God ‘blessed’ that day; and (4) God ‘sanctified him’.’.

The Sabbath of creation and the weekly Sabbath.

The exceptional triple emphasis on the seventh day with its four different aspects to the conclusion of the story of creation in Genesis, indicates that just as man is the crown of creation, the seventh day, Saturday, is the final goal of creation. If this is so, the Saturday of creation is not directed merely towards creation and the Creator, but has equally significant aspects for the future of man, his life and his adoration. This dual purpose for the past and the future, makes the Saturday of creation the archetype of the weekly Saturday. Let us look at the following summary: «Therefore, it seems clear that the divine origin and institution of the Sabbath took place at the beginning of human history. At that time, God not only gave a divine example for the observance of the seventh day as a Sabbath, but also blessed and set aside the seventh day for the use and benefit of man.»

What does it mean that God had concluded his creation on Saturday? The exact idea of the Hebrew verb is difficult to establish. Basically, it means «stop, reach an end» The skin form used in Genesis 2: 2 does not mean «declare concluded» or necessarily «lead to a (gratifying) end»,» but expresses the positive idea of achieving a desired goal. The task of creating is «completed», and therefore, finished: on the seventh day God gave his task for finishing and his creative work finished. God turned his gaze back to his completed creation and to his task completed with joy, pleasure and satisfaction, and declared it «very good» (Genesis 1:31) Here God established the model for his creation. Just as He created the world in 6 days, so that everything was complete and finished on the seventh day, also man must complete his work and his purpose in this creation during the six working days of the week and must follow the example of rest of his Creator on the seventh day, Saturday.

In the same way, a thousand-year-old week of six thousand years is projected into the future of the earth, with a thousand-year-old Saturday in which it concludes, not creation this time, but redemption.

Following the model of the Creator, the human being can also look back to his work completed with joy, pleasure and satisfaction. So you can rejoice not only in the creation of God, but also in your own responsible government over creation (Gen. 1:28), not in the abusive exploitation of it.

In Exodus 20:8-11 the commandment not to work in the rest of the seventh day also has as its motivation an explicit reference to creation and the divine example: «For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and everything that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore, Jehovah blessed the Sabbath and sanctified it» (vers. 11). These texts point to the origin of the Sabbath in creation and the language of motivation reminds us of the story of creation. Especially, Genesis 2:1-3, forms the conclusion of the biblical account of creation. These verses are not an «etiological myth», but a meticulously structured literary unit. Verse 1 affirms what was finalized: «the heavens and the earth» (Gen.1:1; 2:4; Exo.20:11; 31:17), that is, the whole world in its two-part division, together with «the whole army of them», specifically the fullness of the army of creatures contained in the two-partite world. Verse 2 is linked to verse 1. through the common verb ‘concluded’ (klb). «The seventh day»,2. God had completed «his work that he had done.» The expression ‘the seventh day’ appears twice more in this unit (vers. 2b and 3a), so that four ideas are associated with ‘the seventh day’: (1) God ‘had completed’ his creative work that day; (2) God ‘rested’ from his creative work that day; (3) God ‘blessed’ that day; and (4) God ‘sanctified him’.’.

The Sabbath of creation and the sabbatical rest.

The idea that God «rested» on the seventh day appears in Genesis 2: 2, 3, Exodus 31:17 and Exodus 20:11. This text uses the Hebrew verb nwh, «to rest, to take a break», while the other passages use the verb šbt, «to cease (work), to stop (to work), to rest». The relationship between these terms has often been debated,* but caution is advised, not so much emphasis is placed on the differences that any relationship between Genesis 2: 1-3 and Exodus 20: 8-11.43 Not only is the reason for the divine rest referring to the Saturday of creation common to the three texts, but the expressions «the seventh day» is not only common to the three texts the reason for the divine rest referring to the Saturday of creation, but the expressions «the seventh day» (Gen. 2: 1-3; Exo. 20: 10), «blessed» (Gen. 2: 3; Exo. 20: 11), «sanctified» (Gen.2:3; Exo. 20:11; Exo. 31: 14), «to do» (Gen. 2: 2, 3; Exo. 20: 9, 10; 31: 14, 15; Exo. 35: 2; Deut. 5:13,14) and «work/work» (Gen. 2: 2-4; and Exo 20:9,10; 31: 14, 15) connect these texts very closely. Genesis 2: 2,3 is full of language that belongs to the texts of the Pentateuch on the Sabbath, to the point that it has been concluded that the seventh day of the week of creation is «instituted at the same time as the Sabbath day of man» The fact that the noun ‘Saturday’ is not present in Genesis 2:1-3 and that no explicit commandment of Sabbath is provided, can find its reason in one of the purposes of Genesis 2:1-3: specifically; present the divine model whose example man must follow (Exo.20:11;1:17).

The question of the origin of the verb šabat, «to cease (work), to stop (to work), to rest» and the noun šabbat, «Saturday», has been the subject of wide debate. It has been suggested that these words derive from the Arabic sabata, «to cut, interrupt; to rest» from the Arabic root śbb, «to grow, to increase, to be great», or from the Achadian sab/pattu,» being the very meaning of such a term, or of the word sb, «seven», through the Achadian.» It has been shown that these attempts are unsuccessful and remain unconvincing, because they are not supported by philological considerations of comparative Semitic and lack the support of the use of forms of the Hebrew root šbt in the Old Testament. Anyway, to those who accept it, are indifferent, and also to those who want to reject them.

Creation takes place with reference to time, to which the duality of working days and the Sabbath day belongs. This is the «seventh day», Saturday. The cessation of work by God, his rest, on the seventh day is not needed because he is tired or fed up (Isas. 40: 28) but because of his function as a model of man.

Man is the «image of God» (Gen.1: 26-28) and is taught by the example of his Model to act in the use of the sequence of time (Exo.31:17; 16: 23-26; 20: 8-11).

The Sabbath commandment in Exodus 20 also affirms the «rest» of God on the seventh day, but chooses the Hebrew verb nuah (vers.11; Deut. 5: 14), while Exodus 31:17 and Genesis 2:3 use the verb sabeg. In the texts about Saturday, the verb nuah means «to rest, take a break», and together with the idea of Exodus 31:17, that God «was renewed,» it is part of the vocabulary of the sabath that expresses the most intimate identification that God makes of himself with the human being. God rests on the seventh day of the week of creation to provide a day of encounter at rest with the crown of creation, man, made in his image.

The three texts (Gen.2:1-3; Exo.20:11; 31:17) that address the Saturday of creation state that the world is no longer being created, because God rests from the work of creation on the seventh day; a day of rest in contrast to the days of creation. These texts connect God’s rest with the institution of the Sabbath. The weekly Saturday has «its legitimacy on the first Saturday of creation.» When resting on Saturday, man participates in God’s rest, meeting his Creator.

Note: The verb «exhale», or «take a breath, cool off», is used in the Old Testament only in Exodus 23:12; 31:17; 2 Samuel 16:14. On that, a theologian suggested that God should rest because he had been exhausted of his work of creation. This goes against the general biblical context and Exodus 31:17 and against the theme of God’s rest in the Old Testament: «God does not get tired or tired with fatigue» (Isaiah 40:28). In those human expressions we see the disbelief of man reflected in his fault.

Theological and pastoral reflection

Studying in detail this issue that theologians analyze from all angles of possibilities and historical eras, everyone forgets a key element of the existence of divine rest called Saturday. To that end, Jesus Christ, the Son, who knew the intrinsic secret of the Sabbath and its transcendental relevance in the life of the human being, tried to make us understand the reason for his existence and the special blessing and sanctification that the Father, in agreement with the Mother and the Son, granted him, as a gift of life to the newly created human being. How did Jesus do it? His entire life in this land he devoted to relieving the burdens and diseases of his neighbor, who in his path, he found on his Saturday walks.

Since he was a child, he showed his interest in the Word, and as a young man, he used to visit his friends the Esenians to help them in the task of curing thousands of sick people, who came from everywhere in search of help. The Essenes, for their part, received Jesus as God himself who gave instructions, taught people the cause of their ills and sufferings, and touched them to heal their diseases. The resources of nature concentrated in the rest or systematic rest, were used to alleviate and heal the ailments of those afflicted by the different evils. Great healings were made on the bank of the river and the nearby lake. The Essenes were experts in natural remedies and Jesus came to teach them the most effective techniques not only to heal them physically, but to change their lifestyles and beliefs that were harmful to their body and mind.

No one had ever spoken to them about daily-night rest as a divine medicine to harmonize body and mind. They had never heard of the important weekly rest of the 24 hours corresponding to Saturday. No one knew the medicinal importance of rest that guaranteed a long and healthy life on earth. (Exodus 20:12), and the experience they were acquiring with Jesus, guaranteed them success by healing all kinds of evils.

The secret has not been revealed to men because very early in the history of the creation of the world, men despised the greatest and most valuable gift that God was willing to give to human beings from the beginning. Two thousand years later he tried again to give them another great gift, giving them his Son to save them and «his own did not receive him» However, Jesus tried to teach them the hidden secrets of the kingdom of heaven, and they did not want to understand it. (Matthew13:11-17, 35).

Consequences of rejecting rest

Rejecting rest brought fatal consequences. The entry of three doctrines of error in the teachings of the nascent Christian church caused the church to lose the gifts of the Spirit that were granted to it at Pentecost. Thus, not only was the blessing of rest lost, but the wonderful gift of healing was lost that was the reason for everyone to marvel at the miracles of Jesus; and missing Him among them, with the miracles of the apostles. From then on, the church grew more slowly, and none of the apostles, nor elders, could understand the reasons for that unfortunate loss of healing power. Nor did they realize, nor have they noticed yet, that Jesus advanced in his parables of Matthew 13, not only the reason for the loss, but the solution of the problem they faced.

In his last healings, the Master changed his healing strategy and added three new elements that would serve the church to continue performing healing miracles.

Prophetic warning and call to fidelity

According to the Jewish nation, which was the people chosen by God to illuminate the world with the message of the Messiah of the promise; they did not receive the blessing of the Father through the Holy Spirit because they misunderstood the blessing and sanctification, which contained that gift of God for the human being, and which he called delight, holy, glorious of Jehovah so that it was to be the Jew first, and then the rest of the world. Everyone, everyone, rejected the universal rest that guaranteed health that counteracts disease and death.

That vision, extremely healthy, was designed by the Father and the Son. together with the comforting Spirit to complement our rest every day when the sun is hidden so that all creatures and nature rest and recover the energies invested in their various activities. It is the divine instrument created to heal all the diseases that sin has brought to man and woman. Those days would be shortened on earth as the time of the end approaches.

The weekly divine rest is the most direct and acceptable form that gives honor and glory to the Creators of the world. They claim the paternity that the man has given to the enemy, thus desecrating the first five Commandments. Claiming a shared loyalty with our earthly fathers that our creator demands as our supreme father and doer. If we understand that divine claim, the human response must be total and consistent.

But the human being, the men and women of this creation, have been unjust and have despised and rejected the greatest gift or gift that God has given to man so that he can live long on earth: Not only to his son Jesus Christ, but to divine rest.

Divine rest, together with the son and the divine Mother, are the greatest gift that God the Father has given to man. And instead of appreciating it in what that is worth, they have rejected it, they have desecrated it, and they have made it the day that merchants most enhance their businesses. On the day that the religious most detest some, and that more offerings collect and move others. For this reason, the Jews rejected the Messiah and adopted circumcision, the laws created by them. They turned true and genuine rest into an intricate web of human laws and statutes. They separated the God from love and mercy, and turned him into a cruel avenger who only forgives through flesh and blood.

That austere and cruel, vengeful and angry vision of God, has entered the whole world that has been flooded by the denominational message of modern churches that have adopted the Jewish vision of a God with human attributes of vengeful justice, which only stimulates the negative feeling of eye for eye and tooth for tooth. The Christian church shares both extremes: the liberal and the restrictive Jewish.

That attitude takes away from the road all the beings who live on earth with good feelings of love, friendship and companionship with their neighbor, because it carries a wrong concept of God, of his love, and of his justice. That distorted vision of God’s character makes millions of good-feeling beings have rejected the message of the churches and see Christianity from a rationally human perspective. They live without understanding the love and generosity of the creator God who wants to come to earth and live with his children, like any father who wants to be with his family and take care of them from all evil. By losing sight of that important aspect of the divine family that was the model that God used to create the human family, the reason and the divine purpose of uniting the two families in a friendly and fraternal union that makes no difference between their biological children and their adopted children are lost. They all make up a great family: the family of God.

Sabbath unites all those divine interests in a fraternal relationship that makes no difference between the members of that great family: sons and daughters of God; Perfect fruits of the great creative love that wants to bring them together forever in love and justice, in health and in the company of the heavenly Father, the divine Mother and her Son Jesus Christ who was willing to suffer in flesh and shed his blood for the family of the earth.

No one has realized the true purpose of divine rest. Not even because Jesus chose that day to show us the love that a good Samaritan had with a wounded stranger he found in his way. Nor the blessing and sanctification that was imparted to that weekly period of time to produce in the human being the best feelings to lavish the love of the Father to all those who do his will on that special day that has a purpose of mental and spiritual health that transcends from the Father to his children for all generations until eternity.

By not understanding the purpose of that particular day, nor having discovered the intrinsic secret of those 24 hours of each week, everyone gets sick and suffers, unaware of the medicinal power that that special day contains for health and life.

Quotes and prophetic exposition (Isaiah)

Eve’s sin at first was due more to the fact that she separated from her partner on Saturday and went to explore on her own in forbidden areas for her knowledge. The rest day had another purpose not yet discovered by them. And neither had the Father had the opportunity to explain to them. There was still time for that. Her curiosity took her to the foot of the precipice and she fell.

For that reason, the prophet Isaiah said: «If you retract your foot from the Sabbath, to do your will on my Holy Day, and to the Sabbath you call the delight, holy, glorious of the Lord; And you worship him, not doing your ways, nor seeking your will, nor speaking your words: Then you will delight in the Lord; And I will bring you up to the heights of the earth, and I will feed you the inheritance of Jacob, your father. Because the mouth of Jehovah has spoken it.»

«Behold, the hand of the Lord has not been shortened to save, nor has his ear aggravated to hear. But your iniquities have divided between you and your God. Just as your sins have made them hide their face from you so as not to hear. For your hands are contaminated with blood and your fingers with iniquity. Your lips lie. Speak evil your tongue, there is no one who cries out for justice, nor who judges by the truth. They trust in vanity and speak vanities, conceive work and stop iniquity.» Isaiah 58. 1314 and 15. 1 and four. We must read all of Isaiah chapters 58 and 59. To begin to understand. The mystery that is enterned in the Sabbath day.

If the people understood the purpose of Sabbath

If all the peoples understood the purpose and blessing of that day, there would not be a single disease, not a single sick person in the world. For that reason, Jesus cast the Jews as enemies and sabotaged their healing work. His greatest miracles were performed on Saturday, to take advantage of the blessing and sanctification of that day and give us an example of its special meaning. From that unique blessing that was granted to him, and from the eternal sanctification he received for that purpose, the Sabbath will remain in force in the new land for eternal health.

A blessing along with the special sanctification that the Creator imparted to that particular day, cannot be explained in human language, nor expressed in any language. Both that weekly rest, as well as the night rest of each night of each day, and the food assigned in Genesis 1:29, have a mysterious secret of life that human beings will not be able to understand until we are transformed two. Nor will we understand why we should not eat from the tree of science while we are on this earth. After six thousand years of sin and diseases of all kinds, the leaders of the Christian Church do not understand it, despite the fact that Jesus established it as daily practice, his love, and interest in the suffering of sick people.

Jesus and the Essenians: healing and rest

When he met with the Essenes, Jesus spent the day by the river healing the sick. They enjoyed that experience watching the lame jump, the blind see, and the paralysed, get up and run. But Jesus never revealed to them the secret of abundant life that is still in divine rest. If he did, they didn’t understand it because they don’t comment on it in their writings, or the translators didn’t understand it.

A healthier life: rest and natural food

One thing is proven, and that is that everyone who believes in that divine rest and practices it as a rule of life, and feeds on the fruits of the earth in the most natural way possible, and they do not kill or eat meat from dead animals; lives much healthier and for a much longer time, than the rest of the people.

Studies on sleep and healthy eating

Studies carried out by several world-famous universities state that sleeping 8 hours a night and eating a vegetarian and natural way is highly beneficial for everyone. They have not carried out studies of the weekly rest or rest, because there are no people who understand it and practice it in the right way for which it was created, but the day they do, they will see the great difference in the health of those who make a stop in their work, and turn the weekly Saturday into a delight, holy, glorious of Jehovah, and venerate him; not walking in his ways, nor doing his will, nor speaking his words. So, they will delight in Jehovah, not only those who do the scientific study, but all those who believe in that divine premise. «And he will make you rise to the heights of the earth and feed you from the inheritance of Jacob your father» It is the best of the land where you live. And your health will never fail you. It is the blessing of rest.

Rest as a support for human energy

The blessing of rest is something inexplicable in human words, because it is the divine factor that God chooses to feed and sustain human energy by itself. We can say that it is the main element that together with vitamins and minerals sustain life and provide us with the perfect fuel to function healthily. He gave the clear and precise instructions for the three most important maintenance activities that the human body needs to live healthily; Eternally and not dying.

The first advice or commandment of life that was included in creation was: food: Genesis 1:29. Let’s look at those three factors:

1: EAT: God gave precise instructions about food. Of every tree that bears fruit… with seed… (Genesis 1:29).

2; REST: The second was the daily rest and the weekly rest (Genesis 6:2 and 1-3).

3: DO NOT EAT: Do not eat from the tree of science (Genesis 2:17).

We have all had to eat from the tree of science because it is the only alternative that human beings have since the evil one took the power of everything. That evil science has coped all human activities and has replaced the pure Edenic food that was available until God sentenced and cursed the earth.

Those 3 pieces of advice as commands were the first life instructions that God gives to human beings after their creation. The result, according to God himself, said: «Well in a great way.» That is why he gave them three (3) Commandments of life so that they would never die and live in youth eternally without aging or weakening.

Evidence in the desert: clothes, sandals and food

Question: How do we know this and where do we find that support? Answer: In Deuteronomy 8:4 and in Exodus 29:5, There we read what the Lord says to you: «I have accompanied you through the desert for 40 years. During that time, the clothes they are wearing have not worn out. Not even the sandals on your feet.» In Nehemiah 9:21, he says to them: «For 40 years I sustained them in the desert and nothing was missing. Theirclothes were not worn out or their feet swelled.» Let us not forget that in addition to the rest of every night, and every Saturday, the Lord feeds them with mana in the desert. Those who were not satisfied with the manna and ate quail meat, all died on the way. They did not see the promised land. That is the best example of the divine promise that was instituted in Eden and that ensured eternal life.

Divine protection and consequences of disobedience

That great blessing that God granted to the people of Israel in the desert, is a small sample of what the Lord was willing to do from the beginning with his people, who obediently served him. I would take care of them from all evil, elements or inclement weather in nature, enemies, diseases of all kinds, plagues and accidents. That guarantee that we can see in the psalm. 90, and 91, and in all the other promises that he tired of making and demonstrating to them through those 40 years that they were wandering around the desert, and the 400 years that they spent in Egypt; They never lacked their protection day or night. They only suffered attacks from those calamities when they turned away from God and went after false gods or gave themselves to pleasures and indecent practices. When that happened, and they forgot about the divine commandments, they suffered the result of their disobedience. As every good father does with his children when they disobey, the Lord reprimanded them harshly.

Divine decisions are made as a family. Both the heavenly Father and the divine Mother and the Beloved Son have always agreed in everything that concerns the earth and its inhabitants. They have always agreed on everything. For that reason, theology states that it is a single God, even though they are three divine people. But when it comes to their children, those who try to be faithful despite the struggles they have to make against every enemy of darkness, and against all the negative elements that they have to fight constantly, in that, they have always been pending. and they appoint legions of powerful angels to take care of them and free them from all those evils to the extent of their fidelity and their behavior.

Divine decisions in the family: Father, Mother and Son

Divine decisions are made as a family. Both the heavenly Father and the divine Mother and the beloved Son have always agreed on everything that concerns the earth and its inhabitants. They have always agreed on everything. For that reason, theology affirms that it is a single God, despite the fact that they are three divine people. But, when it comes to their children, those who try to be faithful despite the struggles they have to make against every enemy of darkness and against all the negative elements that they have to constantly face; in that they have always been pending, and they appoint legions of powerful angels to take care of them and free them from all those evils, to the extent of their fidelity and their behavior.

Blessing conditioned to obedience:

His plan of salvation has been established from the beginning, and blessings have always been available for all those who praise his name, obey his laws, and keep his precepts, his commandments and his statutes (Exodus 15:26).

The requirement of divine inheritance

That is the only requirement that the divine inheritance has for all: His will is that all those who have been pointed out are saved, but they cannot save those who do not want to be saved or accept the divine gift of salvation. If they are not willing to do their will, it is not enough to believe, because demons also believe and tremble. (James 2:19) They recognize the existence of God but stubbornly refuse to submit their will to Him. They have given their destiny to the father. Of the lie, and they are responsible before God for the truth they are rejecting.

The faithful who wait for his coming

Unlike, those who accept the divine will in their lives, keep his Word, strive to serve him faithfully, and wait for his glorious coming to rescue them, are those whom He comes to rescue.

The healing of the blind man by birth and its impact:

Healing. Of a blind man by birth. Not even the book. De Juan, chapter 9. A young man who was born blind. It is of great importance and seems to be the last. What did it provoke? A determined presence. To get Christ out of the. From the middle and kill him.

The Story of the Young Blind by Birth: A Unique Case:

This young blind man walked daily from his home, where he lived with his parents, to the stairs of the temple, where he asked for alms. Always, even on Saturday, he was seen there with his basket to collect the offerings that all the priests and the members of the curia and the parishioners who used to go to worship the temple gave him. They knew him and helped him, because no one would have thought of inviting him to enter the temple to worship. It is that there was the general belief, which still exists, that the physical defects with which a child is born are the result of the sin of its parents or the person. That hereditary genetic factor that even, centuries later, modern medicine continues to blame parents and family predecessors for the diseases and defects that are suffered from birth: Which are, according to them, inherited from family genetics.

Medical diagnosis and lack of hope

This particular case had been examined by the doctors of his time who had evicted him because he lacked eyeballs, and that did not allow him to intervene to correct him in any way.

Nor did they give hope to the blind man, because at that time there was no possibility of a transplant, or a corneal treatment that gave him hope of seeing the light of day. Everything they knew of him, including the disciples of Jesus, knew about the case of this young man named Bern, whom everyone knew by the name of the blind man by birth. And they showed their compassion by throwing some coins in the basket.

Jesus in the temple and the question of the disciple

Because Jesus went very often to the temple and participated in the reading of the Scriptures, that Saturday was no exception. There was, as always, the young blind man by birth sitting on the stairs.

One of the disciples thought of asking the Master: Rabbi. Who sinned this or his parents so that he was born blind? Jesus’ answer was prepared in advance in his mind waiting for a question like that. Already Jesus. He had healed many other blind people. The question about this young man. He did not intend for Jesus to heal him, because everyone was convinced of the medical diagnosis that sentenced him forever as blind from birth.

The response of Jesus and the «time» of the works:

Surprising everyone, the Master replies: «Neither he nor his parents sinned for him to be born blind. More so that God’s works can be manifested in him… That was the opportunity that Jesus was waiting for. He already had his plan in mind and only hoped that the opportunity would arise for some of his disciples to open that door, and that Saturday the expected question occurred: Jesus’ answer was not long in coming: More so that God’s works would be manifested in him,… that was the reason why that blind man had not been approached previously by Jesus, it was not the time. (John, chapter 9:4) «It is up to me to work the works of him who sent me, while the day lasts, the night comes when no one can work. Meanwhile, light, I’m of the world.»

Consequences and testimony (Berna/Bernabé)

The Master’s words have not been understood in the way and manner as Jesus pronounced them. It’s more. I have never heard a sermon that clarifies his words properly. The Master had little time left and this healing of the blind man by birth would bring him serious consequences. He knew it. For that reason, he waited until someone mentioned him, and the disciple who asked the question was moved by the Holy Spirit so that the light of the world would illuminate the life of this unfortunate, who according to history, was not only healed of his blindness, but became another disciple of the Master, who followed his work, gave testimony wherever he went, accompanied the apostle Paul in his ministry. He traveled throughout the continent of Asia with him; And he died as a stoned martyr for walking with the Apostle. (Acts 13:1-12-43. Everywhere they went, Bern gave testimony to his miraculous healing, and many of those who knew him when he was blind, gave testimony to him and his miraculous healing.

The three healing elements in the method of Jesus

All those who recognized and knew of his permanent blindness, Now exclaimed in amazement: Bern sees. The one who was blind from birth, now sees. Barnabas. Now go, he’s not blind anymore. From repeating it so much, people changed the name of Bernabé. To make the great miracle that would transcend the centuries. With a new healing vision that the Church of Christ could carry out using a model of the 3 healing elements. He instituted the master in this particular healing.

Let’s look at the process in detail. Having said this, Jesus, (1) spat on the ground (John 9:6), (2). He smeared the blind man’s eyes with saliva. 3. He told him, go and wash yourself in the Siloe pond. (7:1). The first action. Use the saliva that comes out of the Lord’s mouth. It is his Word that contains all the laws and precepts of health, as well as from the beginning, God established the feeding of the human being, rest, and the warning not to eat from the tree of science. We must keep in mind that no human science has the ability to cure different diseases and physical defects naturally.

In the second action, the Lord made mud with the saliva and filled with that mixture, the empty sockets of the blind man’s eyes. The combination of the word that comes out of the mouth of God, with the elements of the earth with which man was formed (from the dust of the earth). Where medicinal plants and fruits of the earth good to eat are born and grow, and every leaf and green plant that serves as Medicine; the combination of divine power with the elements of the earth that were created for the health of all creatures is being formed. It is the tree of life for the health of nations…

Immediately to that he says: «Go and wash yourself at the Siloé pond. (The Envoy), Who although he was on the other side of the city, distant from the temple courtyard where they were, had a very special purpose: That water fountain had a reputation for being curative. Jesus was doing two important things. By sending him there: one was that positively stimulated the mind of the blind man to try to get to the right place, if he could develop enough faith to go to that distant and unknown place for the blind man, who only traveled from his house to the temple where he almsed. If he managed to get there, he would regain the sight he never had and if not, he would remain blind forever.

Water, faith and the seven natural remedies

There is no doubt, with the certainty that the Master applied the mud in his empty eyes, activated the faith of the young man who believed in the Word of Jesus and went out immediately in search of the water indicated to wash.

There is no doubt that the security with which Jesus acted helped a lot in this case. Washing with water represents a new opportunity for a new beginning. As it happened. With the flood and with baptism. All curative procedures require plenty of water to produce the organic cleaning necessary to carry out the healing process. Pure water and pure air are two of the seven (7) natural remedies that are recommended to all patients for their healing. It is not possible to detoxify an organism without pure water, healthy food, fresh air, sunlight, medicinal plants, faith in God and confidence in achieving it. Those are the 7 natural remedies that can change the course of a blind man by birth and make him a faithful disciple.

Today, there are many birth blind everywhere. They have eyes, they can see. But their mind is totally blind to the truths of the Gospel. This was the method chosen by Christ to heal the sick when the Christian church was deprived of the 7 spiritual gifts given by the Master of Galilee. That experience of the blind man by birth creates a new phase of the healings that the Christian church had to undertake by losing the gift of healing. But it was easier for him to do business with doctors and hospitals and that has been the failure of both entities. By natural law, neither one nor the other, they have the blessing of heaven to heal as Christ and the apostles did. The healing Saturday lost the power of creation, and to recover it… we must restore the divine rest that the Christian church abolished, trampled and threw on the ground along with all the commandments.

The «day of the Lord» and rest in the New Testament

There may still be people who interpret the Lord’s Day as Sabbath, which for them is Saturday. Then there are others who call the Lord’s Day on Sunday, the first day of the week. But, how could it be one or the other, or even the two days together, when John was in the Spirit receiving those visions for the space of two years?

In reality, what happened was that John was carried in the Spirit and was transported on the Lord’s Day, which is yet to come. The Bible speaks of the Lord’s Day, which is in the future, and John was seeing the things of that future day. But in the meantime, to calm our minds, let’s solve exactly what the Sabbath is.

Hebrews 4 and the true rest

The Sabbath, as we know it in the New Testament, is not the keeping of a certain day. We do not have any additional command to save Saturday as a day off, nor do we have a command to save the first day of the week, that is, Sunday. Here is the truth about the Sabbath, which means «rest.» «For if Joshua had given them the rest (or day of rest), he would not speak after another day, therefore, there is a rest (keeping the day of rest) for the people of God. For he who has entered into his rest has also rested from his works, as God of his own.» (Hebrews 4:8-10-15) Did you understand the key phrase in the last part of verse 10? «God rested from his works.»

God gave the people of Israel the seventh day for their Sabbath, in commemoration of His own work when He created the world and all that it contains, and then He ceased to create. He stopped his work. He rested. It was very in order to give a day off to people who were all in a place at the same time so that they could all save a certain day. Today half the world has light, while the other half is in darkness, so that wouldn’t work. But that’s just an argument from a natural point of view.

Let’s see what the Bible teaches us about this Sabbath. «For he who has entered his rest…

This is not just entering, but staying at rest. It is an «eternal rest», of which the seventh day is only a type. «Seven» is consummation. Eight, it’s the first day again. The resurrection of Jesus occurred on the first day of the week granting us eternal life and an eternal Sabbath. Then we can see why God could give us a certain day of the week as a day of rest. We have “entered” and “remain” in our rest, which the people of Israel could not do, having only a shadow of the true substance that we enjoy. Why go back to a shadow when we now have reality? The way to receive this rest, or continuous Sabbath, is by the invitation of Jesus. He said: «Come to me all you who are worked and loaded, and I will make you rest.» Carry my yoke upon you, and learn from me… and you will find rest (or keeping the Sabbath, not a certain day, but Eternal Life, rest) for your souls.» Matthew 11:28 and 29

No matter how long you have walking under the burden of your sin, whether it is ten, thirty, or fifty years, or even more, come with your tired and burdened life and you will find Your rest (true rest). Jesus will give you rest. Now, what exactly is the rest that Jesus will give you?

«Because every table is full of vomit and dirt, until there is no clean place.»

Who will be taught science, or who will be made to understand doctrine? To the weaned ones? To the ripped breasts?

For commandment after commandment, commandment upon command, line after line, line upon line, a little bit there, another little bit there; for in the language of stutters, and in a strange language he will speak to this people, to whom he said: This is the rest (day of rest); give rest to the tired (or, the keeping His day of rest); and this is the refreshment; but they did not want to hear. Isaiah 28:8-12 It is not only entering, but remaining at rest. It is an «eternal rest», of which the seventh day is only a type. «Seven» people of Israel could not do it, having only a shadow of the true substance that we enjoy. Why go back to a shadow when we now have reality? The way to receive this rest, or continuous Sabbath, is by the invitation of Jesus. He said: «Come to me all you who are worked and loaded, and I will make you rest.» «Carry my yoke on you, and learn from me… and you will find rest (or keeping the day of work, not a certain day, but Eternal Life, rest) for your souls.» (Matthew 11:28-29).
